Is it legal for a pharmacist to earn commission for lab referrals?
This is the most important question, and we take it seriously. The permissibility of referral commissions varies by state pharmacy council rules. Our legal team is currently reviewing this across all major states. We will confirm the compliance position for your state before your account is activated. We will not activate any pharmacy that is not fully compliant in their state.
Do I need to install a new app or software?
No. The "Send Lab Referral" button is added directly inside your existing Marg ERP billing software — the same one you open every morning. No new app, no new login, no new training required.
How exactly is the commission rate decided?
Each MargLabz partner lab sets its own commission rate — up to 50% of the test bill. When you select a lab to refer to, you'll see their commission rate before sending. You can partner with multiple labs and choose the best rate for each patient.
What if the patient doesn't go to the lab?
No commission is earned if the patient doesn't complete their tests. Commission is paid only on conversion — when the lab marks the tests as completed. There is no charge to you for sending a referral that doesn't convert.
How and when do I get paid?
Commission is calculated at the end of each calendar month and transferred directly to your registered bank account within the first 7 working days of the next month. You can see a real-time breakdown in your Marg dashboard — every referral, every conversion, every rupee.
What happens to the patient's data I share?
Patient data — name and mobile number — is shared with the selected lab only after the patient explicitly consents. The data is used solely to book their lab appointment. It is not used for marketing, not sold to third parties, and can be deleted on request. The system is designed to comply with India's DPDP Act 2023.
Which labs can I partner with?
Any active MargLabz-registered lab within your configured search radius (up to 20km). You can set a preferred partner lab — so every referral goes to them by default. All partner labs are NABL-accredited or working towards accreditation.
Is there a minimum number of referrals required to earn?
No minimum. You earn from your very first converted referral. There is no monthly target, no penalty for low referral volume, and no lock-in period. You can pause or exit the program at any time from your Marg settings.
